This was a fast small painting done on a beautiful day at the edge of our bay in Richmond, CA. It fits into my goal of creating more small paintings with big brushes. I love to simplify the big shapes and colors.

I went up on Mount Diablo to paint with my good buddy Ellen but it was so windy we couldn't set up our easels. It proved to be a good wind because in trying to escape it we found this gorgeous tree in a gully, out of the wind.
